Split
Dear hosts and hostesses,
The crazy people that slept in your garden are now enjoying the Croatian sun in Split. We've been suffering some delays due to extraordinary exhaustion and heavy winds. Fortunately, the beautiful sunny coasts are making it worth to take some rest. The locals are really friendly and will do anything to make our stay an unforgettable time. We cannot recall a single thing that bothered us back home, which is one of the main reasons we left it in the first place. Duncan and I are getting used to the idea of not having Jory on our sides anymore, and are getting along well. We try to stimulate our brains a bit by teaching ourselves some Servo-Croatian. We will probably be able to make ourselves understandable by the time we leave the country, but this is nothing more than a trigger for a new intellectual challenge called Turkish. We expect to release a book in summer called: ''A language guide for backyard hiking cyclists''. This will contain sentences like:
- No we won't get cold, our sleeping bags are perfectly fine
- We are from Holland, and are cycling to Nepal
- Yes to Nepal
- No really!
- Can we camp in your garden?
- We drink the coffee without sugar or milk
- Yesterday, our hosts offered us biscuits as well
- Our parents did not agree on our trip indeed, but it didn't bother us
- That's indeed a bit selfish and foolish
- Thanks a lot, and goodbye
- Alright, bye
- Thanks, bye bye now
- Byeeeeee!
For as far as you can understand Dutch, it might be nice for you to keep track of us on www.oppad.nl. You will find some cool videos here. Look for the header: ''Onderweg naar Nepal''. Enjoy!
